Breakfast is just one of our most critical meals. Starting your day with a decent breakfast provides us energy throughout your day. This can be much more important in case you are diabetic. Here then, are two of my personal favorite diabetic breakfast recipes.
Breakfast
FRUITY BRAN YOGURT
Pick any berry...a little banana, mid-sized peach, half a cup of fresh blueberries... what you may like best. Toss it in to a blender with 1 cup skim or non fat milk, 1/2 cup of plain non fat yogurt, with regards to a teaspoon of vanilla flavoring, a teaspoon or 2 of sugar and 1/4 cup of the favorite bran flakes. I like to add about 1/2 cup of ice. Blend until smooth and pour into an Large glass or goblet. Sprinkle with cinnamon and wow! Such a great and quick starter.
Breakfast
QUICK FRENCH TOAST
It's not necessary to quit pancakes or french toast when you've got diabetes. Just make a couple of substitutions and a great diabetic breakfast recipe is soon you are cooking.
Because of this one whisk 2 eggs, 1/4 cup of orange juice and a dash of salt in the bowl. Into a separate flat pan you'll need either 1/2 cup of crushed bran or corn flakes, or some crushed pecans. You can also mix the two together for additional taste. Melt 2 or 3 tablespoons margarine in a griddle. Dip slices of whole wheat grains bread to the egg mix after which into your crushed dry mix and line the frying pan. Cook until brown on both sides. Serve with fresh peaches or blueberries like a topping. Who says cooking for diabetics must be boring?
